 Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a common hormonal imbalance condition.   Where women’s ovaries have small cysts which lead to imbalance of hormones like estrogen and progesterone.  PCOS symptoms vary from women to women. 

Here are some common symptoms of PCOS

  1. Irregular periods

It is the most common symptom where menstrual cycle intervals are longer than 31 days.

2. Weight gain

PCO syndrome cause weight gain and upper body and abdomen hence it is difficult to lose weight.

3. Excess male hormones

High levels of male hormones compared to female hormones are one of the key symptoms of PCOS problem.

4. Unwanted facial and chin hair growth

Growing significant hair on your chin sideburns upper lips and also having patches of darkened skin on back neck is one of the major symptoms of PCOS.

5.  Thinning of hair some

Women with PCOS have male pattern baldness where they lose hair from scalp.

6. Infertility

 PCOS are the leading cause of infertility or difficulty in conceiving due to lack of ovulation.

The excess hormones caused by PCOS results in acne or skin tags. 

8. Insulin resistance

PCOS is linked with insulin resistance where cells are unable to use insulin leading to type 2 diabetes.

9. Depression or anger mood

Disorders like anxiety depression or anger can all be caused by PCOS.

10. Pelvic pain

 In some women PCOS can also cause pelvic pain.
